Senior Business Objects Developer

Job Description

We're are seeking to hire a Business Objects senior developer to create  a new reporting solution to replace existing user tools to add to the teams strategic application suite. We consolidates and process different kinds of reportable data from multiple different sources, including big data in Hadoop, as well as some AS400 and traditional RDBMS systems (Sybase and SQL Server) using Pentaho. Once the data is processed it is then sent to external regulators or to internal corporate systems.
 
This is an individual contributor role primarily focused on engineering of critical modules within an application.
The role requires strong engineering skills with ability to quickly comprehend complex business problems and drive solutions around them from design to production deployment.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze requirements and design universes in Business objects version 4.x UDT & IDT, using multiple contexts, resolving loops and following the best practices.
• Able to build complex reporting using Web Intelligence.
• Provide the optimal solutions by fine tuning the design and reports.
• Proficient in version management, and deployments.
• Able to setup the infrastructure, and configuring the user groups, folders, roles and access levels.
• Should be very proficient in SQL and analytical queries.
• Analyze data, and prepare test data to support project needs. Create complex SQL queries.
• Be familiar with an ETL tool, like Pentaho or Informatica.
• Work closely with users, developers, admins and others in both technical and non-technical fashion.

Good to have:

• Understanding of ER models and Data Warehousing concepts and techniques.
• Knowledge of job scheduling systems like Autosys
