Job Description
Purpose of the role:
Responsible for the quality of data and management of all MI/BI solutions. Responsible for managing reporting and ensuring all reporting is accurate and consolidated.
Key responsibilities and tasks:

Work with the Business Data Analyst to deliver data results and analysis for the Bank

Deliver business intelligence for taking decisions in the Bank.

Assist the Bank with the development of automation for various key reports
-
Introduce automation for capture of data to improve consistency and to reduce the error rates.

Own and maintain the data dictionary for the Bank.

Communicate to the business the importance of quality data and hold workshops etc. as required
-
Work with suppliers of MI/BI solutions to ensure that the best quality solutions are used by the business

Work within the Operational control team to ensure that the operations of the Bank run smoothly.

Provide recommendation for tools to improve data extraction and presentation.

Develop the overarching data management and reporting strategy for the bank.

Work with other teams to understand data requirements and manage delivery.

Attain key skills around organisation, business and industry data set to independently generate reports

Propose and implement new ways to increase automation in data extraction and delivery.

In conjunction with Compliance Department, to implement the Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk (this embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply). This is achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also, when applicable, by ensuring that adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Competencies, skills, knowledge and experience to undertake the role
Essential:

Proficient writing of SQL scripts
-
Meaningful experience of up to date data collection, analysis and reporting technology and the ability to learn new data management technologies and use in day to day work

Working knowledge and experience of business functionality and its linkage with data on systems.

Excellent technical knowledge of the Banks systems and experience of producing data maps.
-
Good understanding of SSRS and SSIS technologies and using this tools for automation.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and expert knowledge of Excel and other MI solutions.

Proven track record of analytical and problem solving abilities, accuracy and attention to detail
-
Strong written and oral communication skills and stakeholder communication and liaison.

Analytical and methodical approach to demanding technical challenges

Well organised and ability to handle multiple tasks

Ability to diagnose issues and manage them to completion
-
Ability to manage work from inception to completion.
Desirable:

Financial Services experience would be advantageous.
